Bulls Cut Sutton, Add Jalen Bridges

Bulls Waive Marquel Sutton, Sign Jalen BridgesThe Bulls waived Sutton and signed Bridges, the team announced on Twitter.

Can the Bulls’ latest roster shuffle spark a turnaround?

Sutton, a 6‑foot‑7 forward from LSU, joined Chicago Saturday after a Summer League stint with Sacramento, where he posted 8.8 points and 4.8 rebounds while shooting 51.2% from the field, 38.9% from deep and 80% from the line across eight games.

Bridges, also standing 6‑foot‑7, logged 30.4 minutes per game in eight Suns appearances two seasons ago. After a brief Boston signing and waiver, he spent most of last year with the Maine Celtics, delivering 14.1 points, 1.5 steals and 37.2% three‑point accuracy in 32.5 minutes per contest. For my money, his scoring punch could give Chicago a needed boost.

Now eligible for a potential $91K bonus if he remains with the Windy City Bulls for 60 days, Sutton could see his G League salary swell, while 25‑year‑old Bridges faces a similar path should he be released before the season starts. Windy City secured his returning rights from Maine earlier this week. Will these moves translate into on‑court impact once the campaign kicks off?
