Heavily used during the international break, Ousmane Dembélé and Nuno Mendes will sit out PSG’s match against Le Mans this Saturday at 20:45 in Ligue 1.
A brief pause. In a short statement released Wednesday, PSG said Dembélé and Mendes are “enjoying a rest period”, a decision made “in agreement” with Luis Enrique and the sporting director. “They will resume training on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 October”, it added.
Two players heavily used during the international break.
In other words, both players will miss the Le Mans visit at the Parc des Princes on Saturday, the sixth round of Ligue 1. Unless announced otherwise, they should be available for the Champions League clash on Wednesday against Manchester City at the Etihad.
True to his squad‑rotation policy, Luis Enrique already gave Dembélé a breather early in the season. The 2025 Ballon d’Or winner skipped the trip to Lille (2‑2). In recent weeks he has featured in every match, including the first four games of Zidane’s tenure with the French national team. In my view, the rest will keep him fresh for the big night.
Mendes has also been heavily used internationally, starting all four fixtures Portugal played.
