Can a rookie keep a record that seasoned vets have chased for decades? Brock Purdy now holds the NFL’s top career passer rating.

After Monday night’s showdown, Purdy’s rating climbed to 105.6, the highest ever recorded. He finally crossed the 1,500‑attempt threshold required for the official leaderboard.

So far he’s completed 1,038 of 1,524 throws for 13,145 yards, matching 98 touchdowns against 39 picks.

The previous benchmark belonged to Ravens’ Lamar Jackson, whose career rating sits at 102.7. He’s trailed by Steelers’ Aaron Rodgers (101.8), Bengals’ Joe Burrow (101.3) and Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes (100.8). In my view, Purdy’s lead is unlikely to be toppled soon. No other quarterback with enough attempts is close enough to challenge his mark this season.

Passer rating blends completion rate, yards per attempt, touchdown frequency and interception rate into a single figure. The league adopted the metric in 1973 as its official quarterback gauge. While it ignores sacks, fumbles and rushing impact, it still offers a solid snapshot of passing efficiency. Will any quarterback break through his cushion before the next season?
