Rookie linebacker Kendal Daniels was carted off Sunday with what seemed a severe neck injury, yet today he’s back on the field. Could this be a turning point?

Coach Kevin Stefanski announced Daniels cleared all checks and sits outside the concussion protocol. In my view, that’s a huge boost for the team.

He’s feeling much better, Stefanski said, and will move around in today’s session. The staff will monitor his progress throughout the week.

The incident occurred when Daniels tackled Bears tight end Colston Loveland, his facemask hitting Loveland’s knee. He stayed down, received several minutes of care while teammates knelt, then was placed on a stretcher, his jersey cut off and neck immobilized. He remained conscious, moving a hand, before officials declared him out with a neck injury.

Now, three days later, Daniels is on the practice field, ready to prove he’s fine. Will he stay healthy for the rest of the season?
