Should the Cardinals only play at SoFi Stadium?
Arizona earned its second victory Sunday, shocking the Rams 18‑16 and snapping a tough start to the season.
The first win came in Week 1, also at SoFi, when they toppled the Chargers.
Ranked 26th in yards allowed and 32nd in points allowed, Arizona smothered Los Angeles’ offense all night.
The Rams managed fewer than 100 yards by halftime, plagued by three three‑and‑outs, and lost rookie kicker Blake Grupe to a knee injury after a kickoff tackle.
Controlling the clock, the Cardinals held the ball 34:52 to 25:08, and although they never reached the end zone, Chad Ryland was perfect on six field goals, including a 43‑yard clincher as time expired.
Los Angeles reached the red zone twice—Blake Corum caught a 15‑yard TD pass in the second quarter, and with 47 seconds left Matthew Stafford connected with Colby Parkinson for a 6‑yard score, followed by punter Ethan Evans’s extra point after Grupe’s exit.
The lead vanished when Jacoby Brissett found Jalen Brooks for a 21‑yard gain, and a 15‑yard unnecessary roughness penalty thrust Arizona into easy field‑goal range.
A handful of plays later Ryland nailed his sixth kick, sealing the win.
Brissett finished 24‑of‑35 for 218 yards with one interception, while Trey McBride led the team with seven catches for 53 yards.
Stafford went 25‑of‑33 for 222 yards and two touchdowns; Puka Nacua hauled in six passes for 80 yards, and Davante Adams left late in the fourth with a suspected leg injury after three receptions for 39 yards.
For my money, Arizona’s comfort at SoFi is turning into a genuine edge, giving them two home wins this season—more than the Rams and Chargers combined.
Now 2‑4, the Cardinals will host the Broncos at home in Week 7.
The 2‑4 Rams are reeling; can they rebound in Las Vegas against the Raiders?
