Vasco midfielder injured in car crash, misses Boca semifinal

Vasco da Gama midfielder suffers car accident and misses Copa Sudamericana semifinal against Boca.Vasco da Gama faces Boca in the Copa Sudamericana semi‑final first leg on Tuesday night.

On Tuesday night, Vasco da Gama will travel to La Bombonera for the first‑leg semi‑final against Boca, but the squad is missing midfielder Cauan Barros after his recent car crash.

The 22‑year‑old midfielder was rushed to hospital Sunday following the collision, where doctors confirmed a cut on his left foot. Consequently, he stays in Rio and skips the Buenos Aires trip.

Barros is out for the first leg as he focuses on recovery in Rio de Janeiro, hoping to join the squad in the coming days. For my money, his absence could tilt the tie in Boca’s favor.

He hasn’t featured since September 8 against Independiente Santa Fe and missed the last four selections, so he’s far from a regular starter.

AI predicted the Boca vs Vasco result. Will Boca capitalize on the weakened midfield?

Tuesday night Boca welcomes Vasco da Gama in a decisive first‑leg at La Bombonera. Bolavip turned to an AI tool to forecast the outcome beforehand.

The AI didn’t hesitate, forecasting a 2‑1 win for Boca. It even named the scorers: Miguel Merentiel and Sebastián Villa for Boca, and Santiago Sosa for Vasco.
