Universitario de Deportes is set to launch its campaign in the 2026 Women’s Libertadores, staged in Quito, Ecuador. The cream‑clad side earned Peru’s slot after its 2025 Women’s League run.
The lionesses land in Group B with Independiente del Valle, Belgrano and Palmeiras. Their opener comes against the Brazilian side, sparking high fan anticipation. Reaching the quarter‑finals would mark a historic first for “U” in the continental cup.
Universitario will meet Brazil’s Palmeiras on Thursday 15 October at IDV Stadium, kicking off their 2026 Libertadores journey. The match starts at 19:00 local time for Peru, Colombia and Ecuador.
The lionesses begin their continental trek versus the Brazilian club. Viewers in Bolivia and Venezuela see kickoff at 20:00, while Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay and Brazil tune in at 21:00.
Pluto TV will stream the 2026 Women’s Libertadores free in Peru. The app also carries the tournament for audiences in Bolivia, Ecuador, Venezuela, Paraguay and Uruguay.

Infobae Peru will cover Universitario de Deportes with previews, live minute‑by‑minute updates, highlights, interviews and the standings table.
Palmeiras has removed Luz Katherine Tapia from its squad for the Libertadores in Quito after the Colombian goalkeeper traveled to Brazil ahead of the authorized date.
The move sidelines Tapia for the continental tournament, where Palmeiras will face Universitario de Deportes in the group stage.
According to the Brazilian club’s statement, the player sought permission to return to Colombia for a personal matter involving her father. Management, coaches and the goalkeeping trainer approved, but the club says she boarded a flight before the agreed day without consent. In my view, the club’s strict stance may set a precedent.
