Can Boca overcome Vasco da Gama without their captain? The Xeneizes host the Brazilian side on Tuesday at 21:30 for the Sudamericana semi‑final first leg.
Boca must play the season’s biggest match yet shorn of their leader, who was ruled out after sustaining an injury against Instituto in Córdoba last Friday. In my view, this setback threatens the team’s cohesion.
Vasco will have to reshuffle its lineup and tweak the formation to meet the Rio de Janeiro outfit on Tuesday at La Bombonera.
Coach will likely stick with his regular starters while slotting Chilean Carlos Palacios into the midfield vacancy left by Paredes.
