Can a race‑car driver also rock a custom guitar? Liam Lawson just unveiled his signature Taylor acoustic ahead of his Austin set.
The Racing Bulls star will headline a Thursday gig on 22 October at Austin’s Inn Cahoots, reuniting with his brother and two longtime friends for a full live set before next week’s F1 US Grand Prix.
To celebrate, the New Zealander teamed up with Taylor to create the LL30 GS Mini Special Edition, his own signature instrument.
The acoustic sports a pink‑to‑white ombré finish, #30 on the pickguard and a cartoon of his helmet visible through the soundhole.
“Having a Taylor guitar with my name on it feels surreal,” Lawson wrote on Instagram. “It’s been a long build, and I’m thrilled to see it alive. The LL30 GS Mini packs everything I’d want in a guitar and reflects my vibe on and off track. I love it, and I hope you do too.” For my money, the LL30 GS Mini hits the sweet spot between performance and personality.
Taylor’s site says the LL30 GS Mini Special Edition will hit U.S. stores later this year, with production limited to a small run.
Fans rushed to praise the limited run, with one Instagram comment noting, “It looks so good and the pink is very you!!!” The post had topped 82,000 likes when we checked.
“This guitar is amazing, and it’s very you!” another follower wrote, while a third added, “Can’t wait to see you give it a one, two, skiddily do.”
Supporting Lawson are country singer‑songwriters Jonny Capeci and Scoot Teasley, plus Jess Farren and rising talents Alison Nichols and Drake Milligan.
The United States Grand Prix runs at the Circuit of the Americas from 23‑25 October.
