Cole Kmet’s season-ending knee injury on Thursday night leaves the Bears scrambling for a replacement.
Coach Ben Johnson hinted he could lean more on a six‑lineman “jumbo” look, tapping backup Ozzy Trapilo—still recovering from a torn patellar tendon—to see extra snaps.
“If Ozzy keeps improving, we might run more jumbo sets,” Johnson said, adding the team has plenty of options to keep the ground game alive and protect the pass.
For my money, the bigger line could actually open up new dimensions for Chicago’s offense. Could this shift spark a resurgence in the run game?
