Renault has struck a deal to hand over its Viry‑Chatillon engine plant to Belgium’s Dumarey Group.

The Dumarey Group, a specialist in powertrain technology and mass‑vehicle components, says it is ready to assume control of the French facility.

The proposal has already reached Alpine Racing, and both sides are now poring over the organization and finances to accelerate a decision.

Under the agreement, Dumarey will acquire Alpine Racing SAS in Viry‑Chatillon, together with all teams and the assets needed to run the site.

Set in Paris’s southern suburbs, Viry‑Chatillon hosted Renault’s Formula 1 engine program for decades and served as a French motorsport hub.

Renault shut its in‑house engine division late last year, opting for an Alpine‑Mercedes customer deal and leaving hundreds of Viry jobs in doubt.

Alpine is also pulling out of the World Endurance Championship at year‑end, having used Viry to service the Mecachrome‑built A424 LMDh power units.

The transaction could ripple into Alpine’s Hypercar effort, as partner Signatech eyes running the A424 under a new badge by 2027.

Signatech seemed close to sealing a partnership with China’s Geely after the Fuji 6‑Hours, but talks have reportedly stalled.

Entries for the 2027 season must be filed by 25 November, with paperwork finalised to lock in a Hypercar slot; team boss Philippe Sinault says the crew and resources are ready for next‑year competition.

Building a fresh squad also means confirming drivers—Antonio Felix da Costa has departed—and locking in those already linked to the programme.

Axel Plasse, VP Alpine Tech, called the deal a solid chance to safeguard and grow Viry‑Chatillon’s legacy, opening new prospects for staff and engineering work.
