Over the past two weeks have been cruel for Jake Browning and Break Cincinnati Bengals, but the reliable coach Zac Taylor on the team manager is not shaken.
“I have had a lot of confidence in Jake,” Taylor said through the Cincinnat EnquiRer. “I am inseparable in that. I’ve seen the best of Jake. I know we can do a great job that supports him where he can start winning games for us. So I feel very safe in Jake Browning.”
Browning replaced Joe Burrow in the second quarter of week 2 in a 31-27 victory over Jacksonville Jaguars. He threw three shutters in the afternoon but also added two TDS and delivered 241 meters. This was the offense that was expected after he took full starting team: some mistakes and turns, but moved the ball.
Instead, the break went into the tank for the past two weeks.
Cincy has been overwhelming 76-13 in two games with Browning as the starting team. He has thrown at 140 meters and 125 meters, respectively, with one touch and two shutters. In this two start, he has completed 63.5 percent of his consignments with 66.6 points (only Joe Flacco (60.3) and the Cam Ward (63.9) newcomer Cam Ward (63.9) have a lower score in 2025).
“This is not an assessment of Jake Browning. This is an assessment of us all in violations,” said Taylor. “We all have to do our things to put ourselves in the best position possible to go to points and I am giving Jake everything he needs, that gives the lines everything they need. Really, first and foremost as a head coach, it is not a reflection on one player. It is for me.
The block has been like a porous for Browning as it was for Burrow and the running game continues to be four games that are not participants during the season.
Perhaps the two poor games can be posted to play on the way against strong defenses. Viking Minister of Defense Brian Flores has given better QBS in the career. Broncos could have the best defense in the league and are easily top-5.
Browning will be given the opportunity to prove it on Sunday at home against Lions’ defense, including putting the starting corner of DJ Reed on Wednesday, that he can jump back.
“None of us are playing well enough, none of us is well enough,” said the striker Dan Pitcher. “It seems to be a boring answer, but that’s true. We have to do everything around Jake to help him, and then we need the best Jake. We’ve seen Jake and what he can do when he’s playing at his best and we have to get him there.”
The Bengals are not ready to scrape Bowning Experience yet. If the damage continues, Taylor could have no choice if he wants to avoid losing the locker room.
But not like other options at this point are safe. Brett Rypien is now the backup. Sean Clifford and Mike White reside in the training team. Copies of elders such as Kirk Cousins and Russell Wilson will be discussed as business options, but if the Cincy Season Spiral, does the head office really intend to put out draft assets for aging stopping that are not guaranteed to turn anything around?
