The NFL drafts are always full of what-if.
Ahead of Sunday’s visit to New Orleans, the newcomer Jaxson Dart Giants was asked to recall the possibility that the Saints could have taken him in the first round before Giants eventually returned to Val no. 25 to hang him.
“There is always a chip on the shoulder whenever something like this happens,” Dart said of the saints that lies, through ESPN. “But yes, I’m just going to go there and play as much as I can.”

Dart can join Daniel Jones (2019) and Phil Simms (1979) as the Super Bowl Era Giants newcomer QB to win each of its first 2 beginning, per NFL research. In 2019, New York started 0-2, then won each of the first two Jones in Vikings 3 and 4. 1979 Nyg 0-5 started 0-5 and then won each of the first four starts of Simms in weeks 6-9.
The newcomer to start QB are 6-1 in the last 10 seasons against winning teams in week 5 or later. CJ Stroud lost the latest such game (week 8, 2023, in Carolina).
