In all, Flacco was clearly launched all the training camps. He did not participate in the season for the first two weeks.
Flacco was always the most sensible to open the season. His previous performance in Kevin Stefanski’s system in 2023, which helped Browns reach the season, made 40 years old the best option. His ability to stretch the stadium plays well with Stefanski’s schedule and he can lead the first break and ensure that the club is in the right game.
The main question is whether an elder can avoid dependent on a defensive club. Flacco threw eight shutters in five games in 2023 and seven at six early last year in Indianapolis. If he can cut down selected, Browns should keep games near his strength Myles Garrett under their defense.
Browns season’s difficult opening team – against Cincinnati, Baltimore, Green Bay, Detroit, Minnesota and Pittsburgh for the first six weeks – also lent themselves to Flacco which opened the season as the starting team.
Flacco comes in for 18 years and gives Browns the best chance of winning early, but he is not a long-term solution on QB Merry-Go Round which has turned for decades in Cleveland. If they run a loss, however, Stefanski will probably give one of the younger players shots. The team will want to know what they have before they return to the goal market in 2026.
