NFL Network: Giants trade DT Dexter Lawrence to Bengals in exchange for 2026 No. 10 overall picks

Defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence got his trade wish, and the Giants received their coveted first-round pick in the trade.

New York is sending Lawrence to the Bengals with the 10th overall pick in Thursday’s draft, Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo of NFL Network Insiders reported Saturday. Rapoport and Garafolo added that Cincinnati will also give Lawrence the extension he craved.

Lawrence, 28, has spent all seven of his NFL seasons with Big Blue and made three straight Pro Bowls from 2022-24, but with two seasons left on his contract, he was hoping for a new one. As those talks continued to stall, it was reported that he requested a trade on April 6. On April 14, Rapoport reported that negotiations were at an impasse and that the situation was likely to improve once the draft began.

The decision has left the Giants with two top-ten picks — the original no. 5 and Cincy no. 10 — and the Bengals have a formidable interior linebacker to help stop a three-year playoff run.

About the NFL will have more shortly.
