Milan eyes Gyokeres, giving Pulisic a familiar teammate

Christian Pulisic could get extra boost as Milan makes first move for Viktor Gyokeres with one key advantage over rivalsChristian Pulisic could soon have another familiar face around him at Milan if the club's latest transfer interest develops into something more concrete.

Christian Pulisic may soon find a compatriot at Milan if the Swedish forward’s move materialises. Milan have already opened talks for Viktor Gyokeres, exploiting his uncertain Arsenal future for a potential January swoop.

After dazzling Sporting Lisbon with 97 goals in 102 games, Gyokeres arrived in London only to see minutes dwindle. At 28, he’s yet to leave a mark, while Kai Havertz now commands Arteta’s midfield.

Last season he netted 21 times across all competitions, helping Arsenal clinch the league and reach the Champions League final. This campaign he’s started just two of the first six matches.

His recent outings versus Napoli, Ipswich and Brighton offered little hope. He logged nine touches against Napoli, 18 versus Ipswich, and a full cup game without scoring, then only 17 minutes in the Brighton upset.

Milan enters the picture

Arsenal aren’t actively selling, yet the striker’s camp has started scouting alternatives. The Daily Briefing says Milan have already spoken with his agents, though talks remain preliminary.

The Rossoneri appear to favour a loan rather than a permanent deal, while Juventus and Saudi clubs Al‑Ahli and Al‑Ittihad also hover. No club has advanced a concrete offer, leaving Arsenal in control.

Gyokeres’ team is reportedly uneasy about his reduced role after a 21‑goal season. He’s dissatisfied, but Arsenal still value his contribution for a grueling schedule.

If Milan clinches the deal, expect Gyokeres to spark a surge in Milan’s attack next season.

In my view, Milan’s unique edge is the chance to reunite Gyokeres with Ruben Amorim, the coach who once unlocked his best form at Sporting CP.

The duo thrived in Portugal, with the Swede tallying 66 goals and 23 assists in 68 games under Amorim – a record that fuels Milan’s interest.

For Amorim, adding a forward already versed in his tactics could accelerate Milan’s project. Gyokeres would slot in seamlessly, potentially lifting Pulisic and the rest of the attack.
