Tomlin’s point is that “at least in the short term”, an elder can stabilize Wentz last week for Minnesota. Already, there is a rhythm about whether Kevin O’Connell would be better in fastening to Wentz over JJ McCarthy.
Steelers are very aware of the talent around the team manager, which makes life easier on Wentz.
“He certainly has a full repertoire that is available to him. The return of Jordan Addison, I think is significant,” said Tomlin. “Certainly, (Justin) Jefferson is a man to be expected, a good 50/50 ball boy, strong, good after catch, too. TJ (Hockenson) in tight end is a challenge.
