Matchday three of the 2026‑27 Champions League kicks off this week – can you feel the excitement?
Fresh off a 4‑2 triumph over Manchester City, PSG hosted Barça at the Parc des Princes on Tuesday, delivering a continental spectacle that ended 4‑2 in Paris’ favor. Despite Ousmane Dembélé’s early injury, Doué, Hernandez, Vitinha and F. Ruiz made the difference.
For my money, Paris’ dominance cements their top spot, as the victory solidified the Parisians’ hold on first place, ahead of Aston Villa and Liverpool, who both fell 4‑3 to Villarreal after leading by two. Barcelona, once Paris’ challenger, dropped to eighth. Five sides, including Real Madrid and Betis, have won all three opening games.
Meanwhile, Lille suffered a third straight loss, bowing 2‑4 to Galatasaray despite Soriba Diaoune’s brace, while Lens were blanked 0‑3 on the road at Bruges.
