Real Sociedad have received a pleasant surprise from across the Atlantic: Jon Mikel Aramburu and Yangel Herrera are heading back to Zubieta ahead of schedule, not because of injury but thanks to careful planning and a courtesy from the Venezuelan federation.
The Venezuelan Football Federation disclosed over the weekend that several squad members would depart early, missing Tuesday’s late‑night clash in Asia against Jordan. Had they stayed, the two Real players would have returned to Zubieta far too late for proper preparation before Sunday’s fixture with Deportivo. Now they’re back and will soon report to Pellegrino Matarazzo, possibly this afternoon or, more likely, tomorrow. For my money, their early comeback could be the edge Matarazzo needs.

Will the team be ready for Sunday’s showdown?
