The 2026 Libertadores final between Palmeiras and Estudiantes de La Plata is now locked in. CONMEBOL says the clash will take place on Saturday, 28 November, kicking off at 17:00 Ecuador time at Montevideo’s historic Estadio Centenario.
A single‑match showdown will crown South America’s club champion. Palmeiras eye their fourth trophy, while Estudiantes chase a fifth continental crown.
The start time aligns with Uruguay and Brazil, while Ecuador fans can tune in from 15:00 local time.
Palmeiras earned their spot by edging past Fluminense in a penalty shoot‑out; Estudiantes advanced after dispatching Flamengo, also via penalties.
For my money, Palmeiras appears ready to add a fourth Libertadores title to their 1999, 2020 and 2021 haul, whereas Estudiantes will be desperate to secure a fifth after triumphs in 1968, 1969, 1970 and 2009.
The one‑off final will unfold at the Centenario, the same venue that hosted the 2021 climax when Palmeiras beat Flamengo 2‑1 to lift the cup.
Will the 2026 showdown reshape South American club hierarchies?
