Anna Stembridge has been named England’s head coach, tasked with guiding the team through to the 2027 Netball World Cup in Sydney.
The former Wales star, capped 45 times, previously led England from 2011‑2015, delivering a landmark series victory over Australia in 2013.
After joining as assistant in September 2024, she stepped up as interim head after Jess Thirlby’s abrupt resignation in March, just four months before the 2026 Commonwealth Games.
At the Glasgow Commonwealth Games the Vitality Roses slipped to fourth place, falling to Australia in the bronze‑medal showdown.
Stembridge called the appointment “an absolute honour” and said she feels privileged to chase her top coaching ambition.
She added that leading this group represents the ultimate coaching goal for her.
Having worked with these athletes for years, she’s thrilled to steer them toward the World Cup.
Greenway also heads the London Mavericks in the Netball Super League and previously coached Scotland (2020‑2023), while Harten serves as assistant for the NSW Swifts in Australia’s Super Netball.
In my view, England Netball’s collaboration with club sides will be key to balancing domestic and international commitments.
