Giants Wr Jalin Hyatt has transformation to succeed after sad year 2: 'That's what darkness makes you'

Hyatt was composed of Giants in the third round in 2023 with hopes that he could use his splendid athlete to take on the lead role in the big blue offense. His newcomer seemed to be a good start in that direction. He ended with 23 receptions in 373 meters despite the team’s chaos in the team manager.

Instead of taking steps forward during his second period, Hyatt hardly saw a few targets and ended with only 62 received meters of eight catch (19 targets). That effort appointed him the ninth in the group in meters and receptions, far from the first hopes of 23 years old.

Thus, there was a concerted effort that this offseason must become bigger and stronger, but not to reduce its characteristic quickness.

“Speed will be there, but for me it’s just learning to run on this weight, learn to play faster, play bigger, play stronger with contact,” said Hyatt. “I felt like this was one of the things I had to do since last season, just felt sick. So I just got to get stronger.”

It is not just his bodybuilding that Hyatt is looking to change this dissatisfaction, as he also said he has conversations with the coaches to move him more in the offensive system after making about 86% of his snapshots and all his goals last season.

“I had good conversations with Dabes (head coach of Brian Daboll) and (CEO) Joe Schoen after last year, what we can do to have a better year 3. And that was one of the things I pointed out and you know, I want to move,” said Hyatt. “Don’t just want to be on the outside, I played slots on Tennessee and I just want to fill the slot again and at the same time play still play outside. Just get me around.”

Hyatt also acknowledged that Hyatt also made stronger or fixed in different areas in 2025, that a lot of the improvement will have to come into the spiritual aspect of the game and said he did not feel like he took the most of his opportunities when he had them last season.

His statistics were up, as his catch ratio was 15 points and his gardens per catch decreased from 16.2 to 7.8 and showed a significant reduction in efficiency even without explaining his fewer goals.

“For me, this is just a consistency, being disciplined, making the plays that come to me,” he said. “Once you have done it, more opportunities, they come. So it’s really my mindset.”

There are still more than two months until the beginning of the 2025 period, when Hyatt will fully put its changes in the test, in the hope of success in the form of goals and production.
