Free-Anta CB Stephon Gilmore hopes to play in 'correct circumstances' this year: 'I can still contribute'

Gilmore is a five-hour Pro Bowler and two-hour first team All-PRO, though his last trip to Pro Bowl came in 2021 and the latest recognition that All-Pro corner came in 2019, during the same period as his Dpoy honor.

His coverage capacity took a dip over a 34 -year period with the Vikings and his 60.4 pff grade in that category marked its third worst career. However, he is mostly durable and last year presented interception, nine past defense and 56 tackles at fifth place in Minnesota.

Apart from all steps lost, Gilmore could be property in the right team, an elder leader with a 173 start under belt, still able to deliver a game change.

Looking for his next challenge, his next perfect fit, is also nothing new for Gilmore. After starting his career and playing five seasons on bills and four on Patriots, Gilmore has become a merciless. He has not stayed in the same place since his final year with New England in 2020.

From 2021-24, he suits Panthers, Colts, Cowboys and Vikings.

What would be the right situation for aging great, who is going to turn 35 in September?

Perhaps it is back to the former team, a national team that threatens the Super Bowl or that experiences injuries in training camps. Gilmore still played the vast majority of 2024 Snapp out on a wide corner (772), but he also came up in the box of 109 plays and 77.6 pff running his coverage in 22. Could it be a team in the hope of seeing what he can do with security or more hybrid role – if he was interested in such?

Questions remain at this stage.

If the answers are wise for both Gilmore and the willing club in the future, he will come for a 14th period that is ready to pay the team manager.
