Ayyoub Bouaddi (18 years old) has been one of the stars of the World Cup thanks to his excellent performance with Morocco opposite Brazil the national team on the opening day of the summer tournament.
For several weeks, his name has been at the center of rumors about a possible move to a big club this summer given his quality. And one of the first to comment on this has been his teammate at Lille, Olivier Giroudwho works as a commentator for the BBC during this World Cup.
I don’t see him at Lille next season, his transfer will be between 60 and 70 million
“What impressed me was his maturity and environment which is really healthy first of all. He has a good head on his shoulders in the sense that he is calm and confident. He is a gift to have in your team and Morocco must be very happy with him” he explained in the broadcast.
‘The names of Patrick Vieira, Sergio Busquets and N’Golo Kanté have been some of them brought up when looking for a comparison with playing style Ayyoub Bouaddi. “All my friends and some teammates told me about Patrick Vieira and Sergio Busquets and said he was a mix of both. He has yet to catch them both, but there are similarities” he said.
After this, Giroud turned his attention to the player market and frankly explained it he does not foresee Bouaddi wearing the colors of Lille next season. “His transfer fee will be over 60 or 70 million euros. This is the price in the market right now”he said. “It will be difficult for Lille to keep him; all he has to do is improve the goals, something we joke about him a lot in the team. He needs to be more aggressive in front of goal and if he succeeds then I see him at Real Madrid starting next season” he added.
