Indianapolis Colts quarterback Daniel Jones was carted off the field after suffering an Achilles injury late in the first quarter of Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Jones fell to the grass in pain after completing a pass to Alec Pierce for a 7-yard gain, clutching his right leg. The Colts QB slammed his helmet onto the turf as team medical personnel tended to him on the field at EverBank Stadium.
Jones limped to the locker room before being taken off the field early in the second quarter.
Rookie Riley Leonard entered the game for Jones with the Colts trailing the Jaguars in a key AFC South game in Week 14.
Jones had been playing with a sprained fibula in his left foot for the past two games. He completed 5 of 7 passes for 60 yards and an interception on Sunday.
