Eagles would take the ball and score in his possession as Jalen Hurts landed in his biggest game in the game-28 meters to Devonta Smith-to set up the score to get up double numbers. The chiefs would score with 3 minutes left but could not get the ball back. Eagles changed many races in Tush-Push, including the game collection, to finish Kansas City.
A proposal to ban Tush Push did not stand at the Spring League meeting in the year-NFL teams voted 22-10 to ban the controversial game, but it took 24 votes to pass-so the play remained legal for this season, despite some criticism from coaches.
On Sunday, Eagles strikers appeared before Snap on Tush pushing a play but were not called for the wrong start. Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said after the match he would go over the game in question from Sunday’s loss.
“You try to get penetration is what you try to do,” Reid said of the play. “… could have had some of them (where) they started a little early, but we will look at it.”
Chris Jones, Chief’s defender, who appeared to Livid after Eagles first changed the envelope with just over five minutes in the game, said Chiefs could not use these plays as excuses for losing.
“You know, sometimes you can’t get all the calls right,” Jones said. “Just because we see it, the official is sometimes 15-20 feet away. Sometimes they can miss these small parts.
“We believe that (Eagles’ strikers) jumped several times. So the official didn’t see it, we just have to play the next down.”
The last time Chiefs started a season 0-2, the second season was Reid in Kansas City. The rulers ended that season in 9-7 and lacked the finals.
It is also how Chiefs have lost the first two games that are interesting. Into this season, Chiefs had not lost one fastening game since the 16th week of 2023 against Raiders. But there are two direct losses on one progress to open the period.
“I will take full responsibility for that game,” said Reid.
