Broncos' Bo Nix not worried about ankle: 'I could be full right now'

But even with Nix’s safe outlook on his broken right ankle, it hasn’t been a completely smooth road to this point. He indicated he had some inflammation from the bone spur, according to The Denver Post, but because Nix was in charge of his rehab up to that point, he opted to have his ankle cleaned with recent surgery after the surgery in late January.

Nix was cleared for limited action during Monday’s mandatory minicamp practice, and Broncos head coach Sean Payton said Nix should be good to go before training camp in July. Nix echoed that confidence before camp, saying there’s nothing stopping his comeback now.

“I could be full time right now if they wanted me to,” Nix told the Post.

Expectations are high as Nix enters his third NFL season, especially after Denver added Jaylen Waddle to an already talented group of pass rushers. Also armed with a strong offensive line and top-notch defense, the Broncos are among the few favorites in the AFC.

Nix believes that the injury is behind him and sets his goals high for the season accordingly.

“Just like every year, I want to have a high completion percentage, put the ball in play and have very few turnovers,” Nix said. “But at the end of the day, you can ask any quarterback that question, they want to win the Super Bowl and the MVP. So that’s going to be my goal now every year.”
