Bills-Texans on ‘Thursday Night Football’: What we learned from Houston’s 23-19 win

Bills-Texans on 'Thursday Night Football': What we learned from Houston's 23-19 win

A battle between the Bills’ top five offense and the Texans’ top overall defense went Houston’s way on Thursday night.

The rushing duo, Will Anderson Jr. and Danielle Hunter, led the way, posting 15 pressures and 4.5 sacks while chasing Josh Allen all over the field to make the reigning AP NFL Most Valuable Player uncomfortable all night. When it mattered most, the Texans stopped Allen and Co. yet again, thwarting a potential game drive with a layup in the final moments.

Although Davis Mills and the Houston offense stalled on some short pitches their D carried, the backup QB did enough to earn a third straight win and help propel the Texans over .500 for the first time all season.

The loss leaves the Bills on a seven-game losing streak after starting the season 4-0, and their chances of a sixth straight AFC East title appear to be dwindling unless Buffalo turns it around.
