Veteran Guard Norman Powell is a new member of the Miami Heat and fans seem to be rightly excited about what he brings to the table as an offensive player.
In recent years, Powell has tended to put the ball over the net and take advantage of his additional score with the Los Angeles Clippers last season, with an average of 15.8 shots from the pitch and scoring 21.8 points per race.
One NBA Scout, however, stated that he was a more effective player on the less glamorous end of the floor earlier in his professional career.

The Scout stated that Powell’s defense would be a concern for the Clippers, but that his offensive production helped to offset his restrictions on the other end.

“For the heat, it was a good movement because he can score and he does what he does,” said the Scout.
The Scout made it clear that at this juncture, Powell is not a two -way player, but said he could return to affect both sides of the ball.
“He is not a two -way player,” said the Scout of Powell. “He has the opportunity to be. Because he had that person earlier in the career. But he has come from it.”
Maybe if there is some right to vote that can get Powell back to be distracting in the floor defense, then it is the heat, a team that has long proud of the grit and strength.
Perhaps a smaller role in the offensive game with the heat in the period 2025-26 would help Powell return to his better days in defense, as it is possible that all the energy he had to use last season had a negative impact on his game at the end.
Overall, Heat should be excited to see the opportunity to see Powell take the court in the heat costume for the first time and he expects to be a very important task for the team in the coming season.
