These words are music for the ears of the cowboys, a club that has not tasted a sweet victory for almost 30 years. Over the past three decades, Peak Dallas has only seen them reach the league traffic. They need players who have competitive fire like Booker and when they discovered it was in it, they jumped the opportunity to choose it.
Guru Duke Manyweather’s famous offensive line has worked with Booker and sees the same possibilities in the Alabama product.
“Who you are going to get with Tyler Booker is a leader,” said Manyweather on Thursday of Ol Mastermind Summit, through the Dallas Morning News. “You’re going to get a guy who’s going to press the envelope with people. He’s going to make people responsible. There is no gray area with him. He is the same big energy guy every time.
“So I knew, no matter what, it doesn’t matter if he is a rookie or not – a newcomer is going to have growing pain and grip – I think he will be a great addition to that room like (left guard) Tyler Smith leads. And I think you will see here, maybe early,
It is not often a rookie and takes control, but Booker seems to be interrupted in a different way than the typical newcomer. He can’t wait to prove himself to his new teammates when a full relationship comes because he knows that it is the anticipation of what matters most: a normal period.
“I am very excited for training camps and put the putt on,” Booker said. “I’m really excited for the opportunity to get better, because I know there will be things I have to do and things that I need to get better in and things I need to learn. I am very excited to go through the whole process and learn.”
