Tyron Smith expects Cowboys Lt Tyler Guyton to have a “different type of year” following a newcomer battle

Tyron Smith expects Cowboys Lt Tyler Guyton to have a "different type of year" following a newcomer battle

If the Dallas Cowboys violation is improving by 2025, the development of the left tackle Tyler Guyton will play a key role.

2024 Cube’s options in the first round went through a boom last season in 15 games, including 11 starting teams. Guyton had difficulties that both driving blockers and past the protector, allowed six sacks and 26 QB pressure in 668 snapshots. The left tackle was many times in the class when he went through the case, including penalties.

Dallas added Tyler Booker to the first player to the equation, but if Guyton does not improve, then the correction of the offense under the new coach Brian Schottenheimer will be for nothing.

Former Cowboys Great Tyron Smith believes Guyton has what it takes to turn things around in the year 2. Smith has been working with the 24 -year -old player to help improve his technology

“He wants to do the work,” Smith told Nick Harris of Fort Worth Star Telelegram. “He just needs a little technical work he is doing now. I feel like it will be another year for him to slow down the game and get the newcomer nerves out. I think he builds more confidence in his technology because he is learning a lot more now.

“To be the first, as he is, he already has expectations. But you can’t lean too much to it, you have to have it for yourself. You have to want to be the best in this league and it must be your mind. As an offensive Lineman, we have to have the mindset to play in this league for as long as possible.”

The two never played in the same squad, but they share the same agent. Guyton was composed to replace Smith in 2024.

“I’ve told him before,” I want you to be better than how I did it for some time, “Smith said. “It feels good to me that another guy wants to strive to be better than me.”

Becoming an eight-hour Pro Bowler and two-hour first team All-PRO is to get ahead of things for Guyton at this stage. By 2025, Dallas will add a rocky newcomer.

Many players in the first year fight out of the gate and see a big leap in the 2nd. The cowboys rely on what happens with Guyton. Smith is helping to prevent that trend.
