A striker in Houston Texan newcomer Aireontae Ersery continues to turn his head as he puts forward to start the 2025 season that protects the blind side of CJ Stroud.
In Saturday’s victory in Detroit in Detroit, Texans star past Will Anderson Jr. Pro bowl didn’t hesitate.
“Tae, Aireontae, man, he has really liked me a lot,” Anderson said of Ersery. “His mindset as a rookie. There are not many such guys. He wants to be great. He wants to get better every day. He continues after training with me and Danielle (Hunter).
Ersery, selection of the second round, opened the camp as a backup right -back behind Blake Fisher. It took a week before he jumped in the starting lineup. Then Cam Robinson’s left tackle went down with an injury. Ersery flipped on the left tackle and has not missed the beat. He is expected to open the season as the starting team and replace Laremy Tusil, which was traded to Washington this Offseason.
Starting a newcomer left tackle is always gambling, but every word from Houston about novice has been glowing. His physical, aggressive style is in line with what the new offensive manager of Texans, Nick Caley, wants from his blocks.
Stroud has been as impressed with Ersery’s growth.
“I think” Tae “has one of the best mentions I’ve ever seen from a newcomer in my a few years in the league,” Stroud said last week through Houston Chronicle. “He wants to be great. He asks questions. Going against Will and Danielle every day he does really good. “
