On Tuesday the U.S. Soccer Federation announced Cincinnati’s TQL Stadium will host the USMNT’s Nations League quarter‑final home leg on Nov. 17 against a yet‑to‑be‑named opponent.

The Stars and Stripes will play in the Queen City for the sixth time overall, marking the fifth occasion the national side uses FC Cincinnati’s home ground.
U.S. Soccer praised Cincinnati as the ideal debut venue for the new cycle, noting the city’s fans have consistently rallied behind the team and will supply the energy players need.

The squad’s first Cincinnati outing in June 2019 ended poorly, a 3‑0 loss to Venezuela at Nippert Stadium, the Bearcats’ historic field.
Since TQL Stadium opened in May 2021, however, memories have been far brighter.
That November the United States beat arch‑rival Mexico 2‑0 in World Cup qualifying, and the team has remained unbeaten in three subsequent Cincinnati matches, even though the last two ended without a win.
After a 3‑0 friendly triumph over Morocco in June 2022, the U.S. survived a penalty shootout to eliminate Canada following a 2‑2 draw in the 2023 Gold Cup quarterfinals.
The USMNT and New Zealand shared a 1‑1 draw in a September 2024 friendly at TQL Stadium.

Pochettino’s side joins Mexico, Canada and Panama as one of four teams to earn automatic Nations League quarter‑final berths. In my view, this reflects the squad’s growing consistency.
