Trevor penning Saints believes he will "shine" after switching from tackle to defend

Trevor penning, formerly selected in the first round of Orleans Saints, not only expected the transfer from the tackle to defend under the new regime, but he welcomed it and believed that the change could revive his career.

“What I am doing well, I think it fits better at Guard,” said Menning on Thursday through Times-Picayune. “Don’t say I can’t play a tackle, but in the run – especially with Guard – the one I really do well shine.”

6 FETA-7, 324 pounds of Northern Iowa’s product entered the NFL known for his aggressive style-moment too aggressive. He was set up as a newcomer to the newcomer and asked to help replace Terron Armstead. Injuries wiped out a lot of his first season and he never looked good on the outside. In three seasons, he started 23 games in Tackle, 17 of them last year on the right.

Money was surprised that he was not moved to protection earlier in the career – the latest shot at how previous New Orleans coaches used their players.

“On defense, you can be more aggressive – obviously not extremely aggressive, but more aggressive than in the tackle,” said Penning. “You can just connect with boys and get to them early, against a tackle where you have a lot of space between you and Edge Rusher.”
