Engram spent the last three seasons in Jacksonville and earned Pro Bowl Kinkta in 2023. Last year, however, he played in only nine games and won the 365 meter career that went into 47 catches with one touch. Jaguars’ new regime issued a dense end and Broncos were the first team to express interest in his service.
Payton views the dense end as an ideal weapon to open the center of the offense. Broncos received little production from his crew last season. Elder Adam Trautman led the position in Denver but won only 188 received meters and two TDS on 13 catches. Engram immediately gives the opportunity to update the situation if he stays on the field.
Although the elder could call himself cleaner, he likes the idea of being “Joker” Payton.
“This is a great thing just to embrace,” Engram said of posts on her social media and offered soloists. “Sean talked a lot about it. It was a big part of the pitch that came here. The fans are great here, so it was just a little bit to embrace that story a little bit. But I definitely see as something that needs to be earned by how I work, as I come in and learn the breach and gain the confidence of Sean and Bo (Nix).
