Niko Kovač made five changes to the Dortmund side that had drawn 2-2 with Werder Bremen, with Ramy Bensebaini, Joey Veerman, Konstantinos Karetsas, Samuele Inácio and Fabio Silva all handed starts, while Felix Nmecha, Ethan Nwaneri, Marcel Sabitzer and Serhou Guirassy began on the bench with Nico Schlotterbeck left out entirely.
Hosts Bodø/Glimt made two changes of their own to the side that had beaten Kristiansund BK, with Haitam Aleesami and Andreas Helmersen coming into the starting eleven.

Bodø/Glimt generated the sharper chances in a tightly contested first half.
Early on, Sondre Brunstad Fet blasted a shot over the bar within the first minute, and the Norwegian side soon settled into the game. Jens Petter Hauge forced Gregor Kobel into a save after Sondre Auklend’s clever play, and later Fet curled a chance just wide after a pass from Patrick Berg.
Dortmund’s Joane Gadou received a yellow in the 13th minute for pulling back Fredrik Bjørkan, and Silva was booked in the 25th for a high boot at the same defender.
Hauge then slipped a cushioned pass to Helmersen across the six‑yard line, but the striker’s slide past the far post fell short, leaving the scores level at halftime.

Sjøvold ends the stalemate.
After the break Bodø/Glimt emerged stronger, with Helmersen forcing Kobel into a sharp save inside the opening minute of the second half.
The dead‑lock broke in the 52nd minute when Berg delivered a low cross to the right, finding Sjøvold who calmly tucked the ball low past Kobel for the opener.
