Bayern rallies but draws Viking in six-goal Champions League

Six-goal Champions League thriller ends in a draw between Bayern Munich and VikingHarry Kane’s double sparks Bayern’s comeback, but a red card and late goal leave the tie deadlocked.

Harry Kane netted two as Bayern clawed back from 0‑2 down against Viking, but Michael Olise’s dismissal and a stoppage‑time equaliser robbed them of all three points.

Bayern travelled to Norway on the back of a 5-0 win over Bodø/Glimt on Matchday one, with Olise having scored twice and assisted in that game.

Head coach Vincent Kompany made six changes from the side that drew 2-2 at Augsburg, with Jonas Urbig, Konrad Laimer, Minjae Kim, Nathaniel Brown, Tom Bischof and Lennart Karl all coming into the XI.

Stensness and Christiansen shock Bayern

Viking set the tone early, pressing high and rewarding a Zlatko Tripić corner with Gianni Stensness heading past Urbig within two minutes.

Bayern held the ball, carving chances for Olise, Luis Díaz and Kane, yet Arlid Østbø denied the trio each time.

Just before the break, Viking struck on the counter; Erik Botheim’s lofted pass found Peter Christiansen, who slotted home to make it 2‑0.

Kane forces a draw for Bayern

In the second half, Kristoffer Haugen hauled down Konrad Laimer in the box; Kane calmly sent a low penalty to the bottom corner, cutting the deficit to 2‑1.

Six minutes later, Kane rose to meet Joshua Kimmich’s short‑corner cross, leveling the game, and shortly after Díaz finished a quick move with Laimer and Kane to put Bayern ahead 3‑2 in the 71st minute. For my money, Bayern’s resilience proved decisive.
