His arrival eases the blow of losing Morgan Rogers, Ezri Konsa, Youri Tielemans, Ollie Watkins and Emiliano Martínez this window.
Villa have been busy hunting replacements, and Mbaye joins recent signings Nicolas Jackson, Johan Manzambi, Joao Gomes and Alejandro Garnacho in the Midlands side. For my money, Mbaye gives Villa the versatility they’ve lacked.
Liverpool also eyed the teenager after he logged three goals and two assists across 31 outings for PSG last season, started ten Ligue 1 games, featured in a Champions League match and became the French club’s youngest ever starter.
Internationally, Mbaye has earned 15 caps and netted four times for Senegal, featuring at AFCON and the World Cup, where he scored against France in the group phase.
Originally a France youth prospect, he switched allegiance and debuted for Senegal in November 2025.
He entered PSG’s system in summer 2018 from FC Versailles 78, rose through the academy and made his senior debut in August 2024 at just 16.
Earlier this summer, Mbaye ranked among Villa’s top targets before the club secured Alejandro Garnacho.
