Titans 2022 first-round signing Treylon Burks selected to practice squad Chiefs

Titans 2022 first-round signing Treylon Burks selected to practice squad Chiefs

Former Tennessee Titans first-round wide receiver Treylon Burks is expected to sign with the Washington Commanders’ practice squad, NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport reported Thursday.

Burks, 25, played three seasons for the Titans before being waived/injured in late July after a collarbone injury. He was officially waived through an injury settlement on Oct. 7 and was unclaimed. Burks had visited both the Broncos and the Chiefs before signing with Washington.

The Chiefs’ WR room has been decimated by recent injuries to Terry McLaurin, Deebo Samuel and Noah Brown. Brown (groin) was placed on injured reserve, while Samuel (heel) did not practice Thursday and McLaurin (quad) was limited but has not played since Week 3.

Burks was the 18th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, taken with the pick the Titans received after trading AJ Brown to the Philadelphia Eagles. In three seasons at Tennessee, Burks caught just 53 passes for 699 yards and one touchdown in 27 games (17 starts). He also rushed 11 times for 66 yards and had one punt return of 21 yards.
