The Rams' Sean McVay (illness), who is traveling to Arizona separately from the team, is expected to coach Sunday's game against the Cardinals.

Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay is traveling separately from the team to Arizona for Sunday’s game against the Cardinals due to an illness, a team spokesman said.

McVay is expected to be available to coach Sunday’s NFC West tilt, a team spokesman added.

ESPN first reported this.

Speaking to reporters Friday, McVay said he doesn’t expect wide receiver Tutu Atwell (hamstring) to be activated for Sunday’s game.

The Rams (9-3) sit comfortably as the No. 2 seed in the NFC playoffs heading into Week 14 on Sunday. According to Next Generation Statistics, the Rams have the highest percentage (35%) to earn the No. 1 seed.

McVay and the Rams host the Cardinals (3-9) at 4:25 PM ET on Sunday.
