In what was a defensive game between the Seahawks and the Patriots, Myers was the leading scorer in Super Bowl LX through the first three quarters, nailing FGs of 33, 39, 41 and 41 yards to secure a 12-0 lead at the time. After the two teams traded touchdowns to start the final frame, Myers scampered 26 yards to seal the game with just under six minutes to play.
While Myers’ layups weren’t long kicks, the Seahawks’ punt return was spectacular, and part of a stellar special teams performance from Seattle that included a number of points from Michael Dickson. They also had to deal with the elements.
“I mean, obviously, you know, most Super Bowls are played indoors,” Myers said of the conditions at Levi’s Stadium. “So playing outside, it was a little windy, but we were confident all week. We had a great week of preparation here in San Jose, so, yeah – we were ready for it.”
Myers’ night didn’t end with him becoming the first kicker to win MVP in Super Bowl history. However, his 17 points Sunday cemented him in NFL lore in a different way.
His 206 total points in 2025 made him the all-time leading scorer in a single season, including playoffs, surpassing Hall of Famer LaDainian Tomlinson in 2006 when he scored 198 points in 17 total games.
“Amazing weekend,” Myers said. “It’s not real yet. Maybe in a couple of weeks it’ll start to settle down after a while. Right now we’re just enjoying the moment.”
