Raiders place Maxx Crosby on injured reserve; DE to undergo postseason knee surgery

Maxx Crosby’s season is over and the Raiders’ star quarterback will soon be on the mend.

Las Vegas announced Saturday that Crosby (knee) was placed on injured reserve, officially ending his 2025 campaign with two games remaining.

Crosby will have meniscal surgery on his knee after the season, NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport reported. Rapoport adds that a quick recovery is expected.

“We have made the decision to place Maxx Crosby on the reserve/injured list for the remainder of the 2025 season,” the team said in a statement. “After deliberate and detailed consultation with many of the top medical professionals, it became clear that this decision is in the best interests of the club and the player. Maxx is the ultimate warrior and he has fought very hard to compete every week with his teammates since his mid-season knee injury.

“We are grateful for his incredible contributions. He is a true Raider on and off the field and we look forward to his leadership and toughness into 2026 and beyond.”

Crosby was informed by the Raiders that he would not play in Sunday’s game against the Giants because of a knee injury he has been dealing with since October.

Crosby was selected to his fifth straight Pro Bowl in 2025 and finishes the season with 10.0 sacks, 28 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles and one interception.
