Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young left the second half of Sunday’s 13-6 win over the New York Jets and did not return after injuring his ankle.
Senior Andy Dalton replaced Young on the final play of the third quarter with Carolina leading 13-3. The Panthers ejected Young midway through the fourth quarter.
Young was 15 of 28 for 138 yards with one touchdown pass at the time of the injury. Dalton completed 4 of 7 passes for 60 yards.
Dalton started five games for the Panthers last season after Young was benched early in the campaign.
