Tyler Ulrich, 21, a safety for Southern Nazarene, passed away Thursday after a traumatic injury five days earlier.
The incident occurred during a contest against Ouachita Baptist University in Arkansas.
Details of the injury remain scarce. SNU play‑by‑play voice Dave Myrick told KOCO that Ulrich went down after the play, but he couldn’t determine what happened.
The loss shatters his family and teammates. It’s a heartbreaking blow for the program. Saturday’s matchup at Southwestern State University has been called off.
