A late‑June crash left ESPN’s NFL draft guru Matt Miller seriously injured, prompting a donation drive that quickly turned into scrutiny of his fantasy leagues. Online criticism morphed into an investigation into the leagues he ran and other possible financial issues.
He has previously been charged with a misdemeanor from the crash, and KMOV’s Heather Sullivan says Miller pleaded not guilty on Tuesday.
Authorities allege he was driving on the wrong side of the road. Footage from the truck that hit his car shows the vehicle crossing the double‑yellow line before the collision.
Sullivan notes the Missouri Attorney General’s office is still probing Miller for alleged fraud.
ESPN placed Miller on leave in July as he heals from injuries that required an arm amputation. The network says it will address the Attorney General’s inquiry at the appropriate time. In my view, ESPN’s decision to sideline him while he recovers seems prudent.
Having risen as a top draft voice, can Miller rebuild his career after this turmoil?
