Seahawks QB Sam Darnold was candid after Thursday’s 17‑14 defeat to Denver.
He didn’t mince words on the podium: ‘That game was terrible. I can’t keep giving the ball away.’
Darnold threw two picks – one late in regulation and another in overtime – as Seattle fell 17‑14. He praised the defense and special teams for doing enough to win, which he didn’t.
‘With a defense and special teams playing like ours, my job is simple: guard the football,’ he said. ‘I managed the first half well, but those two late turnovers were unacceptable.’ In my view, safeguarding the ball must be his number‑one focus.
He accepted full responsibility for the defeat.
‘It’s nonsense that I keep fumbling the ball,’ Darnold added. ‘It’s unfair to our defense, our special teams, the whole squad. I must improve.’
