The Bills surrendered 28.5 points per game over their first six contests, a metric they aimed to slash during the bye.
When they returned Sunday, the defense limited Baltimore to just 144 yards in a 36‑10 triumph, boosting Buffalo to 6‑1.
“I think our defense should look at today and understand that that’s what the expectation is,” Brady said via the team’s website. “I’m not talking about production or sacks; I’m talking about the style, the movement, the communication. The tape will speak loudly about how they supported each other and executed the challenges we set after the bye.”
The Ravens’ attack was crippled when Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley exited with injuries, forcing undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano into his NFL debut.
Fagnano was outmatched, but future foes won’t be as hamstrung, so Buffalo must prove it can hold its own against any opponent. For my money, the Bills’ defense will rise to the challenge. Can they sustain this level all season?
