Rookie guard Darius Acuff Jr. has logged a modest 32.9% field‑goal rate and 14.8% from three, yet he’s already averaging 22.3 points, highlighted by a 33‑point explosion in the Kings’ home opener on Friday.
Those figures show the rebuilding Kings are betting heavily on the teen’s scoring punch. At 34.0% usage and 36.0 minutes per game, Acuff leads the squad in shot attempts and sits just behind the veteran in minutes, confirming his starring role. The concern here is whether his efficiency can improve enough to sustain that load.
