Malik Naber found himself in the spotlight after New York’s 21-6 loss to Washington because he was in high definition in dealing with Brian Daboll on a cartoon. Those who were quick to judge their communication assumed that Naber was frustrated with his goal, but the recipient quickly rejected that conclusion on Wednesday.
“Just 12 targets and five power, just not how I want to end the day,” said Naber. “I know everyone was more focused overall that I was mad that I was not getting the ball. That was not at all what I was worried about. I had 12 targets. Why would I argue about getting the ball if I had 12 targets?”
Naber acknowledged that he needed to be “more aware” about TV cameras constantly while they were on the field, but also chalted the screen for the disappointment of the season open-up and how he looks when he is not focused on commenting.
“Just overall how I played,” he said. “I don’t think it was frustrated. As I said, I was trying to get the offense started. I was trying to get people to,” let’s roll. ” The lights were on.
“I got NBF. I got a natural B —- face. That’s just what it is. It’s my face. I don’t know. When you all talk to me, I look the same way every time. I don’t know, that’s just how I am. I have to smile more.”
