Iraola kept it brief on his Bournemouth return, insisting any post‑match chat would wait until after the final whistle.
Throughout most of the game he wore frustration, as Liverpool struggled to settle, yet they turned the tide after halftime and earned a deserved win, a promise Iraola kept.
Following his press conference, Iraola chatted with local reporters about San Sebastian, a city Bournemouth visited earlier for their Europa League opener.
With nine points from a possible fifteen in the league and victories at Anfield in both the Champions League and Carabao Cup, his Liverpool tenure has started on a high note.

“Overall we’ve definitely stepped up since those opening matches,” he noted. “There are still areas to polish, but I’m thrilled with our third consecutive league clean sheet.”
“It’s a tough test – you never feel comfortable here. Bournemouth presses hard, forces you to adapt, and you have to find a way to win,” he said.
The need to adapt after last week’s goalless draw with Fulham was clear, yet Iraola’s side appears to be learning fast.
“We still have to prepare because the upcoming schedule is brutal,” he warned.
“We face top‑four rivals, then jump into Champions League and a Carabao Cup tie with Chelsea every two or three days. This post‑break month will be demanding for us,” he added.
After the international pause, his attackers must step up. Gakpo impressed again, while Wirtz struggled and Barcola still searches for his first Liverpool goal or assist.
“The start was sluggish, but Florian lifted his game in the second half, and I’m far happier with his contribution now,” Iraola observed.
Regarding Isak, he explained: “A striker must create chances. He missed a few crosses, but his work helps us push higher up the pitch and hold more meaningful possession.”
“When the team occupies that space, the goals will follow,” he added. In my view, the defensive solidity gives Liverpool a clear edge. Will this momentum carry them through the packed schedule ahead?
